The Hip Hop & Climate Justice Initiative focuses on engaging people, especially youth, in the climate justice movement through Hip Hop and using Hip Hop culture as a vehicle to advance and reshape climate justice [culture] to be inclusive and representative of those most impacted by the climate crisis.

What does the HH&CJ Initiative Do?

We produce songs and music videos to raise awareness about the climate crisis and its impacts and hold power holders and corporations accountable for their role in perpetuating climate change and valuing profit over life.

We lead creative workshops, open mics, events, and culture spaces for youth, artists, and community to gather and express through culture our experiences as people on the frontlines of environmental injustices and the social inequities it exacerbates and collaboratively think about what a sustainable and equitable future looks like through Hip Hop.

From surf writing workshops to open mics HH&CJ provides a multitude of spaces for youth to get connected with the climate justice movement. Interested in having a Hip Hop & Climate Justice workshop for your school, organization, or event? Request to have one created and led by our team:

We explore the relationship between art and culture in revolution and how we can use our own hip hop, art, and culture as a tool to further the movement for environmental justice.

Our Hip Hop & Climate Justice team meets biweekly on Wednesdays at 5pm!
