Youth Vs. Apocalypse is a diverse group of young climate justice activists working together to lift the voices of youth, in particular, youth of color, and fight for a livable climate and an equitable, sustainable, and just world. We are all young people from ages 10-18 based in the Bay Area and we are supported by 350 Bay Area. We organize events and protests to get young people involved in climate justice action and to pressure politicians to make environmentally and socially conscience policy decisions.

Join a Youth Campaign for Climate Justice

YVA’s campaign to show policy makers and the public that young people want a Green New Deal, and that it is the push we need to save our future.

Working to stop the export of coal from Bay Area docks, and to protect Oakland and Richmond communities, especially those of marginalized people, from the disastrous effects of air pollution and climate chaos.

YVA along with Warriors for Justice and Earth Guardians all protested The California State Teachers’ Retirement System and called them out for investing over 6 billion dollars in fossil fuel corporations. Their main argument? That our teachers should be our advocates and protectors, people who care about us and our future.

On December 6, during the UN Climate Talks, we call for actions demanding climate justice in San Francisco.

On January 17th, as part of the radical legacy of Martin Luther King, we call for a climate strike in Oakland.

BLACKROCK’S BIG PROBLEM

In the name of our health and future, we need the Governor take action now and side with us, the people, over fossil fuel CEOs.

Governor Newsom has the executive authority to not only address this crisis, but also set a global standard for climate leadership prioritizing justice and equity for young people, frontline communities and workers at every stage of the process.

OUR LAST CHANCE: PROTECT CA FROM BIG OIL

BlackRock is the largest investor driving new coal plant development, it is the largest investor in oil and gas, and the largest investor in companies driving deforestation.

BlackRock is a structural force in our economy with the power to guide the flow of trillions of dollars in investment capital, therefore, If we want to have a shot at tackling the climate crisis, BlackRock must stop pouring money into the destruction of our climate and communities.

DON’T DREDGE THE BAY!

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning to dredge a channel in the Bay from San Francisco to Stockton in partnership with the Port of Stockton, Contra Costa County, and the Western States Petroleum Association.
